soooooo......

Last night was a gig with the awesome Wham Duran! The best George Michael tribute band around!!! And with some of the loviliest people I know! The hot topic of the evening was Steph who was on Deal or No Deal last Tuesday! She was such a sweetheart on it and dealt at exactly the right time and made it a great game!

Was a great set with some of my favourite songs of George and Wham, including I'm Your Man (the shaker part is obscene!) and Freedom 90! Great gig! Was thoroughly shattered after though and just about made it home in one piece! :op

Today I set off early for the Wolvestock Country Music Festival with a certain young Mr Travis Collins and the wonderful Scotty on bass! aka Mash!

Was a very slap dash gig....we were on for 30 mins which was prefaced with the quickest turnaround i've ever done/seen! All in all a cool gig with a young boy at the front screaming at the sound man 'One more! One more! Let them do one more!!!' Very very funny and sweet....

Also managed to avoid getting my fortune read....Im a sucker for those sorts of things, they really intrigue me....however the £10 asking price made it a whole lot easier to walk away from! Bought some pick n mix Woolies style sweets instead....a much better investment! I'll just have to make my own future instead! God-darn it!

A total of 7 hours driving today has bought me back home and somehow into a position of watching Coyote Ugly but I'm home relaxed and ready for the Ultimate Drum Experience starting tomorrow! A week long drumming course run by Mike Dolbear with loads of guest teachers including Steve Smith, Stanton Moore and Jeff Davenport! Should be fun and scary and more fun!

Better get a-sleepin so I can get a-lernin tomorra!

On the road with Travis Collins....

So yesterday was my second gig with Travis Collins, an awesome country rock artist from Australia! We only met on Thursday and got straight into some gigs! Thursday night was a nice little do in Arborfield at the Royal British Legion! We were greeted by many people dressed as cowboys (and as I havent done too many country gigs in my time...yet....I thnk i'll find this very entertaining for the rest of the tour! ) We managed to get through the first night totally flying by the seat of our pants! Was pretty sweet considering we had only run throughhalf the tunes that morning!

Yesterday's gig was at the Norfolk Country Music Festival. This was an awwweeessssooommmeee gig in a huge barn type place packed out with everything from cowboys to indians to (rather large beer bellied balding male) Arabian belly dancers! It was mad! The star of the show though was Michael, one of Travis' fans who got on stage to sing Yea She Does and he did an awesome job! Watch this space country world! Henry Smith was also playing on the night which was awesome! And their lovely bass player lent us his bass as ours was playing up...

All in all an awesome night! I only regret not taking up the chance to drive a massive American style truck! Doh! Hopefully next time!

So tonight's a bit different....doing a tribute gig with some of the loveliest people on the planet! Wham Duran! At The Venue in New Cross. Gonna have a blast! Will report back soon!

Mika and Si!

Sooo Mika gig last night was AWESOME! Stage looked great, covered in silver paper, like thousands of chewing gum rappers, but didnt look as cheap as that sounds! Looked amazing and sparkly! :-) The set was brilliant with acoustic versions of old songs and some tasters of the new which sound brilliant! Can't wait to hear the album! Also a special mention to all the hardcore fans who knew all the words to the new tunes!

Today was cool, went to audition for a guy called Si Connelly, was great great fun and got to play with some wicked musicians!!! Didn't get the gig, but me and Si are gonna do some stuff together another time hopefully....if you get a chance to see this guy then GO! He's brilliant live!!! Gonna be so successful! Check out his stuff at http://www.myspace.com/connellyjunk

Anyways shattered so gonna chill out now

Mika Tonight!

Last minute ticket to go and see Mika tonight at Sadlers Wells!! Should be a good'n! It's a more acoustic show too so i'm sure it'll be a bit different from the older shows, but still as quirky I'm sure! Will report back on it tomorrow! Always nice to go see a fun energetic positive show!
